I've been with them since the beginning of this year I believe or in the middle of 2011, anywhoooo, I been with it so long, that they had made changes to the website. Which I really do love the changes. Winter Protective Styling (continued)

This is the style I am wearing as a protective style and this is some pictures of how my hair was in-between protective styling. I believe my hair has flourish since protective styling.
I will have to tweak and start over in the New Year what I will incorporate in my hair journey.
I would love to get back to henna treatments or coconut treatments for the following year as they would be my main thing for balancing moisture/or protein. As for washing , I bought the Entwine Duo Set Because I really like their products so I decided to go for the set. I said it couldn't hurt to try so why not. I only used these products twice as they are still fairly new. The first time I washed I used both products, considering how dirty my hair really was. I love it! So far The shampoo is really cleansing and leaves the hair soft and easy to go through. It doesn't sud up as most shampoos do and it is sulfate free. As for the conditioner I love it! It does condition and moisturize the hair. It also pops my curl pattern when I wash. :) The only thing I could say is after you wash, you do need to seal the hair to keep in the moisture. This is where the Entwine Hydratoring Butter would come in. But do the lost I incorporate the shea moisture for sealing. Which works just as fine. Overall I like how everything is coming so far. I am really a co-washing type person , but since I love Entwine so much, I had to put my trust and get it. Will I ever go back to AVC rinsing??? Yes. I believe I will switch my routine if necessary, maybe for the spring/summer and use only the conditioner and when, I do (protective styling incorporate these products). As for what is to come in the following year, I will discuss further on deep treatments.... incorporating a solid regimen, or will I still submit to inner mini -pjism...LOL Happy Hair Journey!

Winter Protective Styling

It has been awhile since I have posted on my blog. I have been through a lot so I couldn't post what I have been doing currently at the moment. I have been displaced as a Hurricane Sandy Victim. So as much as I wanted to say what I've been upto I just didn't have the chance. So , I am sorry if you have been wondering what is up , or if I am going to do any new blog posts. I lost a few products from my Journey, and was lucky to even save some, or get some from volunteers. I did spent a little money when I could to get a few items to incorporate at the time of the incident since I was displaced and couldn't do what I mostly do in the comfort of my own environment. So, just to get into it, this is what I have been doing protective styling I started after being displaced by the storm. I was lucky enough to save my shampoo and conditioner I recently bought. Not so lucky to save the cream set though except for one item, which is my argon oil. I washed with what I have which is what I will show you in a few. I braided my hair and installed my vanessa hair clips in. This has been working lovely for since that time. So overall I have been protective styling from the middle of october until now which is december. I would like to continue this in the beginning of next year until early march spring. I did leave my hair out for two days before I installed the hair again. I also make sure I moisture/seal the hair in-between taking down and washing.
Here are things I used and pictures will be posted (see side pictures)
Shea Moisture Original Version ( I really like this product not too bad/replacement because I lost what I normally use) Mane N Tale Detangler ...I use this on the weave to keep it smooth but it is also good for your natural hair to detangle and smooth and keep the hair moisturize also. Shampoo and Conditioner- Entwine Duo- Already bought love the way it washes my hair makes it nice and soft feels moisturized when wet. My Argan Oil. I had a Entwine Set but sadly that got washed up so I had to throw it out :( My Hydrator cream is what I use and normally love, to do my hair styles and moisturize my hair. As for the creme styler jelle I wasn't too fond of it makes the hair defined but hard and crunchy, the cream de mold for edges was cool something that could last long but doesn't hard tighten little side hairs that tend to stick out. But it something good to use to touch up your edges. I also bought some clips and goody combs to help with future styles in the future.

Coconut Milk/Cream Treatments

Today I want to discuss on coconut treatments. I haven't been doing them very long, but I can tell you my hair is speaking with a difference. Some people might find it very drying to the hair. This is why I follow up with a good deep condition and prep my hair normally as I do. I use what my hair loves to keep my balance. Whether it 's a good creme that I love that I have at hand. Or my kimmaytube cognitions that I make to balance that moisture. But my next step is to try it in a different method. You can use whatever brand you can get on hand, or a raw organic type. The first time I did this treament I tried the box version. But I find that the Goya cans suit me best for now when I want to do this type of treatment. My next step is try it out in my future mud mixes. I want to see the difference it makes and how more beneficial it can be. Sometimes doing henna treatments can be a bit drying . So some people say adding coconut milk to the mud mixes, help keep the softness to the hair. If you have no problem, with coconut or being a mixtress you can try this method. To keep The Moisture: I practice the LOC Method. Liquid, Oil, Creme I do this if I run out of my (kimmaytube mix), which you can learn to make by searching youtube. (If I dont have certain ingredients to make the mix, then the LOC Method can be used.)

Thickening your tresses

Today, I want to talk about maintaining the hair to stay strong and having thicker tresses. Well for a long time I didn't know that was so many ways we have to maintain the hair no matter if it's in the relax or natural state. I mean my main ideas was keep it clean, dry, set and style , light grease and go! I didn't know we should do hot oil treatments every so and so, let your deep condition sit or practice doing protein treatments every once a month. There so many ways to thicken and maintain your strands. So today I want to talk about Henna. What is Henna? Why do you use Henna? What is it purposes and so forth. Henna is a natural plant, that stains and dyes and also is a natural protein that fills the gaps and promotes thickness.
Why I use it?
I use it for two different purposes. I use it because it a great natural plant protein that thickens the hair. Second reason it's a natural way to dye the strands. My hair is naturally dark but when it hit the sunlight I have tints of red and sometimes I can see the tints without the sun when I look really closely. It is something you have to do overtime. But the main greatest purpose is strengthen your tresses.
To find more info you can checkout hennapage.com
***note: picture up top is a old henna session as you can see my tresses look straighter, less curl. I kind over did my session by adding alot of hibsicus powder...something I use to get the color dye release.Another is you can use other powders to your mixes. I will explain this in a next blog session**** In these pics this is my henna session I set my henna in a carrot bag and freeze it for when I will use. You can set henna overnite for dye release or you can use right away depending on the purpose of how you want to use it.

It's not just the beginning....

Hello, This is my story. My journey began having downfalls in 2006. I believe. I wanted a dye job. I can't recall but I believe I did something like a strawberry blonde or brown sorry I don't have pics but I have memories.I wasn't taking care of it so, that is where it all started.I wore alot of protect styles to grown my hair out. Before all this I did start my protective styles in my peek teenage years. But this was more so to grow out the damage I had. I also feel that I could retain the lengths I once had in the mist of jhs school and late high school years. I tried many ways and ideas to catch my ideal goal. Fast foward------> 2012. Five years natural and still learning. I did a texturizer last august big no,no on my part and even went to do a dominican blow and /flat iron. Hair chin length ughhh. Why me? Six months on n off on Hairfinity. BUT!Guess what?! My hair has grown since then! It touches my shoulders somewhat yay me! Trimmed in Febraury. Last weave protective style in November. So this my journey, I need to stay focus for 2014 because I want to make this challenge not just for a contest but also for me and hopefully I can leave a mark. Even for others on along the way. One more thing I haven't big chopped always been a natural transitioner and followed up with trims and protective styles when neccesary. Here's to my Journey.
